Don’t read this if you don’t want to see the a-word.

I want people to do what I think they should do. If everyone would just ask me before they did anything, I’d be a lot happier. I think they would too. I’m tired of listening to people complain about their lives and then keep doing more crap to bring it on themselves. So, I think I will take this opportunity to tell everyone what to do.

First, don’t lie. If you want to have a good life, you can’t be a liar and that’s what you are when you lie. “Well, Heather, everybody tells white lies sometimes.” No they don’t, you whiner. You do. Because you’re a liar. If you don’t want to be a liar then you have to tell the truth and that means all the time. You can’t half-ass honesty. I didn’t want to cuss but it was pretty much the only way I could think to say it and make it sound the way I wanted it to.

Speaking of not half-assing things, that’s another way to live a good life. Try. Work hard. If you’re going to do it, then do it to the best of your ability. No one can make you feel bad about anything if you know you tried your hardest. Take lying for example. Maybe you screw up and tell a lie, okay, you’re a liar at that moment. Then you go back and tell the truth. That’s called falling down and getting back up.

Some of us need to get better at getting back up. You won’t ever have a good life if you let life kick you around. If life kicks you, you kick it back, baby! If you want to waller around in self pity, you can, but other people will get tired of it real quick and you will create a totally un-fun cycle for yourself. Recognize when you bring bad things on yourself and then you can keep from doing it next time. Also recognize that sometimes bad stuff just happens to us for no reason but enjoying being a victim isn’t going to get you anywhere.

In keeping with the not half-assing theme, the next one is don’t be a half-ass communicator. Say what you need to say. Don’t try to make other people read your mind. They don’t have time for it. If you want to have  a good life, don’t use innuendo and insinuation. Don’t be cryptic. Don’t vaguebook. If you want to say something, then grow a pair and say it and if you don’t, then shut your lips (or stop typing).

Which brings us to not being ridiculous when you do say things. No, we shouldn’t all scream what’s on our minds all the time. You need to think about why you want to say something before you say it. If you are letting emotion override logic, you might want to wait before you let it fly. Or not. That’s a judgement call.

Okay, I think that’s a good start. So you know, I don’t think I’m perfect but I do understand the difference between constructive and destructive behavior and I try to keep that in mind. It makes me not feel sorry for myself.

Go be cool.

Ha! Thanks, Krissy! Glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks these things.
